Our Professionals

Charlie J. Burns, CPA - Managing Shareholder

Charlie Burns, CPA, joined the staff at Reid, Hanna, Johnson & Co. CPAs LLC in 2014 and became a partner in the firm in January 2017. As of January 1, 2020, Charlie is the Managing Shareholder.

Charlie grew up and lived in Northern California where she also raised her four children and completed her education.  After working in public accounting for several years, Charlie returned to school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from National University.  She is a licensed CPA in Oregon and California and has extensive government and non profit audit experience as well as business and individual tax, accounting and consulting experience. 

Charlie spends her time outside of the office with her husband Patrick and their large combined family.  She has a passion for horses and hiking.

 Thomas T. Reid, CPA

Tom was a partner with Marilyn Hanna in Reid, Hanna and Company LLP for 30 years beginning November 1, 1983 when Tom and Marilyn acquired Tischhauser, Cooper and Company.  Tischhauser Cooper was originally founded by Ernie Tischhauser in 1955.  Tom continues with Reid, Hanna, Johnson & Company working a less arduous schedule without responsibility for firm administration.

Tom’s family moved to Ashland from Portland in 1955.  He graduated from Ashland High School in 1965 and attended Oregon State University for three years.  He returned to school at Southern Oregon College and beGan taking accounting and business courses.  He graduated in 1971 and began work in Albany, Oregon in the newspaper advertising business.  He returned to Ashland in 1976 to take additional accounting and finance courses to prepare for the CPA exam.  He began working as an intern for Tischhauser Cooper while attending SOC.  After passing the exam and getting his certificate he was offered the publisher’s position at the Ashland Daily Tidings where he was employed until the 1983 purchase of the accounting practice.

Tom has been extremely active in the Ashland and Southern Oregon community having served on boards and held leadership positions for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland Community Hospital, Ashland Community Hospital Foundation, Ashland Rotary, Ashland Chamber of Commerce, SOU Regional Advisory Board, SOU Foundation, and Mt. Ashland Ski Association, among others.

Tom is married to Marilyn Hanna and has two adult children.  Nick lives in Bend and Annie Reid Driver lives between Ashland and Jacksonville.

Tom provides income tax preparation and planning as well as accounting and business advisory services to clients of the firm.

Marilyn J. Hanna, CPA

Marilyn was a partner with Tom in Reid Hanna and Company LLP for over 30 years and continues to work with many of her long term clients at Reid Hanna Johnson & Company.

Marilyn moved to Ashland in 1973 from Portland after graduating Oregon State University in 1970.  She started with Tischhauser, Bubb and Company as receptionist, advancing to bookkeeper after a few years while taking accounting classes at Southern Oregon College.  Marilyn passed the CPA exam and was certified in 1981.  Together with Tom Reid, they purchased Tischhauser Cooper and Company on November 1, 1983.

Marilyn lives in Ashland with her husband, Tom Reid, and several cats and two dogs. Together they spend much of their free time at their vacation home on the Rogue River in Trail.

Marilyn does all facets of income tax preparation for individuals, businesses, trusts and nonprofit organizations for Reid Hanna Johnson and Company. 

Lisa Sclan Cooper, CPA

Lisa has been serving clients in the Rogue Valley for 25 years. For most of that time, she owned and operated her own accounting firm, Lisa Sclan Cooper, CPA in Ashland. She’s happy  to be part of the Reid, Hanna, Johnson & Company CPAs team where she is continuing to serve her many clients. Lisa is a member of the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Lisa moved to this area from the East Coast in 1974, first to Yreka and then to Ashland in 1982. Lisa and her husband Larry have raised 3 children in the wonderful Rogue Valley. They are now enjoying being the parents of grown children and the grandparents of one grandson.  When she is not working, Lisa enjoys travel, spending time with family and friends, walking, hiking and knitting.

In addition to tax preparation and planning, Lisa provides personal and business planning and advisory services to clients. She has extensive experience with family businesses and medical practices. She enjoys helping her clients find good solutions to complicated business problems.

Linda Oltrogge, CPA 

Linda grew up in Montana and came to Oregon in 1997 to join the financial management team of the Medford Clinic. She worked for 15 years in the local healthcare and retail industries and has been with us since 2014. Linda provides accounting and tax services for the firm. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting and her Montana CPA License in 1994. Recently she also obtained her Oregon CPA License. 

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling around the world for scuba diving and yoga, volunteer work in Nepal, and visiting friends and family in Montana. At home, she enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, and spending time with friends. 

 Andy Aranyosi, CPA

Andy grew up and attended college in south Louisiana and was working for Touche Ross (now Deloitte) in 1985 when he passed the CPA exam. His specialty has always been taxation and in the 80’s acquired publicly traded partnership tax experience along with college and university auditing.  He directed the Internal Audit function at Southeastern La. University for a few years, at which time he passed the Certified Internal Auditor exam and gained management consulting, compliance and fraud experience. In 2006 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, he moved west and has not looked back. He obtained his CPA license in Colorado while assisting retail, small manufacturing, physical therapy continuing ed and landscaping firms meet their strategic and financial goals. While keeping his “day job” in Colorado, he backpacked summer weekends for the U.S. Forest Service for six seasons surveying trails in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area near Steamboat Springs. When his son went off to college in Fort Collins, Andy found himself an empty nester and decided to move to the Pacific Northwest, where he initially worked for a well-respected IRS tax relief firm headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The move to southern Oregon occurred when his significant other Kacy (and her two large Alaskan Malamutes) made their move to Diamond Lake Ranger District, near Crater Lake. He now holds his Oregon CPA license and intends to make Ashland his permanent home.

 Roberta Stebbins

For 35 years, Roberta Stebbins, together with her husband Richard, owned and operated a CPA practice licensed in California and Nevada. During that time she was chair of the Nevada State Board of Accountancy and of the National CPA Examination Review Board. Since retiring to Oregon, she has served in many volunteer positions including chairing the City Budget and Audit Committies. For the past six years she has worked with Lisa Cooper, CPA and is excited to be joining the staff of Reid, Hanna, Johnson and Company. 

Shaelline McCulloch

Shaelline (Shae) was born and raised in Southern Oregon. Shae went to Southern Oregon University, became an Alpha Kappa Psi member and received a Bachelors of Science in Public Accounting, with a certificate in Managing Information Systems in 2016. She is currently preparing to sit for the CPA exams.

Shae enjoys many of the outdoor activities this Valley provides, as well as supports local art and museums. 

Jamey Colbert  

Born in Wisconsin, but raised just over the border in Siskiyou County, Jamey moved to Southern Oregon with her 3 children, 17 years ago.

Jamey started in bookkeeping and payroll in high school working for a local car dealership and later for an ozone manufacturer before moving to Ashland. She worked for a number of years at Plexis Healthcare Systems (formerly of Ashland) and after her children left the nest, she transitioned into the service industry, focusing on her love of food and wine. She now serves our team as the Lead Bookkeeping and Payroll Specialist. 

Jamey married her sweetheart, Ian in July of 2015, and they spend all their free time together going on road trips, exploring wine country, making  meals for family and friends, spoiling grand babies and their furry child, Chloe. 

Julie Shelton

Julie was born and raised in Southern California and moved with her family to the Rogue Valley in 2001, after graduating from high school.  A few years later she became a part of our company and has been a smiling face here since December 2003.

Julie has been married to her husband, Will, since 2007, and enjoys spending most of their free time loving and raising their 5 awesome boys Billy, Benjamin, Uriah, Joshua, and Boaz.

Lindsay Burns

Lindsay has lived in Southern Oregon for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music as a percussionist from Southern Oregon University as well as a minor in Business Administration. She is currently enrolled as a graduate student of the Masters of Business Administration program with a focus in Nonprofit Management. 

Outside of her work and education, Lindsay enjoys sharing her musical knowledge with students. She has been a front ensemble technician for Phoenix High School since 2014, and she is an overall advocate for music and arts education. Additionally, Lindsay enjoys contributing to the cause of animal welfare. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Koa Bully Rescue & Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization dedicated to Bully Breed adoption, rehabilitation, and advocacy. Lindsay resides in Medford with her significant other of 9 years, Brian, and her senior rescue dog, Rusty.

Shalene West-Mason

Shalene spent the early years of her childhood in Central Oregon and moved with her family to Southern Oregon in 2006.  She graduated Southern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and plans to pursue further higher education in the future.  In addition to working at Reid, Hanna, Johnson & Co, she works after-hours with SOESD providing childcare to children whose parents attend support circles and parenting classes.

Shalene enjoys spending her free time reading, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.  She commutes from Central Point, where she lives with her husband, Anthony, their cat, Scout, and Walker Hound, Koda.


Rachel Sperry

Rachel was born and raised in Montana and moved to the Rogue Valley in 2013. She has an Associate’s Degree as a Medical Administrative Assistant and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Accounting with a minor in Computer Information Systems through Southern Oregon University’s online program.

Rachel lives in the Applegate Valley with her partner, Dustin, and their Great Pyrenees, Poppy. They will be welcoming their first child, Penelope, in April 2020.

Although free time is scarce, Rachel enjoys rafting, hiking, and spending time on the coast.
